We provide whole and ground brown flax seed for the manufacturing of pet and animal feeds. The addition of flax in animal feed improves overal livestock health, boosts immunity, and enhances nutrient absorption. It promotes shiny coats, supports hoof and joint health in horses, and enriches egg yolks with higher levels of ALA and omega-3s in laying hens.

Our HACCP certified plant currently ships into the United States, as well as within Canada. We deliver in 50lb poly bags, 2000lb totes, or bulk, with the capacity to supply an array of flax users.

Ted and Audrey Petracek are founder, and accountant of the thriving, generational family business.

Son, Brett Petracek oversees the daily operations of the cleaning and milling process.

Daughter-in-law Jessica Petracek manages business relations and logistic coordinating.

Our History

Petracek Commodities Ltd. is part of a fourth-generation family farm established in the early 1900s. Grain was the focus before value-added processing was established in 1980 with the first processing plant built to focus on certified seed sold mostly to farmers. In 2004 cast iron mills and a new packaging line was added to provide customers with milled flax and flour. Along with the ever-expanding processing and cleaning plant, the farm continues with an established grain production side. Currently, Petracek Commodities Ltd. specializes in processing whole and milled flax seed for animal feed manufacturing and oil extraction.
